Additional Pump Station to Serve 7,000 Households in Labangal, Calumpang

The growing population of General Santos City has caused the rising demand for water supply. The increase in demand poses a challenge to General Santos City Water District to address the need of sufficient and safe water supply.

The reserve groundwater source located at Prk. Lansang, Brgy. Sinawal which was drilled in 1995 was activated to augment the water demand in the city. This new Pumping Station No. 8 will be used to supply the newly constructed 1,500 cu.m. Cylindrical Steel Ground Reservoir and this will greatly help a lot to ensure adequate supply in the city proper as well as in the area of Brgy. Labangal and portion of Brgy.Calumpang.

The new source can also serve more than 7,000 households that would increase the service connection and coverage area.

Although drilled in 1995, Pump Station 8 was only finished last 2015 and can cater up to 7,000 households, an answer to the increasing demand of water supply in the city.
