General Santos City Water District through its Community Relations Section, launched its first TikTok contest last May 16, 2020 with the theme “GSCWD TikTALKS about Water Conservation” and a hashtag #conserveWoahter.

The contest aimed to encourage the Generals to practice conserving water in their homes. High water consumption has been one of the effects of the quarantine period since most of the people are mandated to stay inside their houses. Since Tiktok has been on top of the trend and has become the national pastime of many Filipinos, it would be the perfect platform to invite people who are neither savage nor ratchet, but fun and creative, to be advocates of water conservation.

Creativity and “Woah” factors were the basis of the winning entries. Tiktokers were challenged to upload their own interpretation of the Water Saving Tip for the day. Maximum of 3 winners were chosen in every entry of the “Tubig Tipid Tip”.
