18 May 20th Pump Station to cater 5,000 Households in Brgy. Calumpang
General Santos City Water District reached another milestone as it inaugurated its 20th pump station located at Templado lot, Brgy. Calumpang this city.
The pump station was constructed to serve the fast growing community of Brgy. Calumpang. The project was a proof of GSCWD’s earnest desire to answer the increasing demand for water supply in one of the most populated barangays in General Santos City.
Said pump station is expected to augment water supply up to 5,000 households in the City with a capacity of 104.7 liters per second.
On October 3, 2019, the office issued a memorandum suspending acceptance of new service application for the whole barangay as existing customers have been experiencing low to no water supply especially during peak hours.
“We assure the people of General Santos that this is not due to water scarcity but is a mere shortage in our number of water resources. We have on-going drilling projects and we are also open for the possibility of utilizing surface water “, said Engr. Arn B.Gellangarin, General Manager.
The inauguration was graced by several leaders of the City as well as the management of GSCWD.
