Contract of Service Day 2019

In the Philippines, we celebrate Labor Day every May 1, the same day that the world recognizes their own Labor Day and International Workers’ Day. It is also one of the few holidays recognized over the world and is seen as a regular holiday anywhere it is practiced.

To General Santos City Water District (GSCWD) this day means Contract of Service Day (COS Day) where a team building activity was conducted to 49 Contract of Service (COS) Personnel at Hacienda Don Juan, Glan, Sarangani.

Lead by resource person Ms. Melissa Bautista, the activity was a mix of entertainment and learning tools.

Before the team building activities started, each COS team did a cheering battle to everyone’s delight. It also helped dissipate the shyness of the personnel and it boosted up their energy to perform well in their next activity.

The team building activities that were conducted by Bautista included the use of the hula-hoop.  COS personnel were asked to think of a way to pass through the hula-hoop without touching it and had to do it as a team. And the human rope game, the opposing team needed to untie the team tangled in the rope without breaking it. Prizes were given to the winners.

The purpose of the team building activity is to strengthen each personnel’s teamwork which is an important key to improve efficiency, productivity and group cohesion in the workplace.

The COS personnel were treated to scrumptious snacks and lunch. GSCWD gave tokens to COS personnel for being cooperative throughout their activities. The rest of the day was spent with COS personnel just chilling and unwinding before the work hustle starts again.
