05 May GSCWD Adopts Customer-Friendly Scheme during the City’s ECQ Quarantine Period
General Santos City Water District (GSCWD) is one with our nation in facing this most challenging health crisis. In support with our government efforts to curb the exponential spread of Covid-19, GSCWD has implemented effective and doable initiatives as we continue to provide potable and sustainable water supply to every household.
Apart from the strict implementation of the following precautionary measures like “No Mask, No Entry”, Observance of Social Distancing, Installation of handwashing and foot facilities at GSCWD entrance, along with the provision of alcohol and checking of temperature to every client that enters our office and daily disinfection of office premises, GSCWD also ensures to keep its mandate to deliver quality water service to the people of General Santos 24/7 amidst the pandemic and stay true and committed to SAVE LIVES.
Whereas, during the local declaration, placing the entire city under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), GSCWD feels the agony of its life blood – the concessionaires. Hence, the District immediately responded to the challenge by giving assistance and privileges to its consumers. Though subsequently, it means sacrificing some of its projects, GSCWD felt the need to uplift each other during these tough times.
Thus, to ease the burden of the GSCWD’s concessionaires, the District has implemented a time-bound significant programs, such as, granting of ten (10%) ECQ assistance/discount for May – June 2020 water bills and the waiving of five percent (5%) penalty on over due accounts starting March 2020 to January 2021 billing. But not just that, aside from the implementation of temporary suspension of service line disconnection, the management also allows acceptance of partial payments as among the initiatives of GSCWD.
