GSCWD Children’s Month 2019
The GSCWD joins the celebration of National Children’s Month (NCM) this November under the localized theme “Every child has the right to safe water”.
In this year’s activity, General Santos City Water District through its Gender and Development Program prepared food the Bia-o Elementary pupils enjoyed. The children filled their stomachs with hamburgers, hotdogs, cotton candies, french fries, nuggets, and many more snacks. Noche buena packages were also given to the teachers of Bia-o Elementary School in Brgy. San Jose, General Santos City.
In line with the celebration GSCWD also organizes activities such as Coloring contest participated by grade 1 to grade 5 pupils and slogan contest participated by grade 6 pupils. The activities aim to hone the talents of the students in visual art and to express their creativity through the use of drawing, color, and painting.
GSCWD also donated a 40-inch television to introduce another learning style to students using technology.
In addition, Mr. Haniel Decrepito of GSCWD discussed the importance of water sanitation through a video presentation, showing the value of personal hygiene among school children.
GSCWD recognizes children as the most valuable assets of the nation and appreciates the importance of their role in society.
